Hello! I am so glad you stopped by! I am the one behind Addie May. I am a Grandmillennial artist and I love drawing, painting and designing beautiful prints for children's apparel for your little ones! Back in 2021, I started a pattern print shop and for one year, painted like crazy, created prints to add to my pattern shop, where I would sell my print files digitally. I landed some big commissions with so many wonderful smocked businesses! I had always dreamed of starting my own line and dreamed of opening a children's wear boutique but the competition seemed too high because I saw so many boutiques!!
I slowly began seeing my prints pop up in different shops, many boutiques running my print designs in their shops!! More and more I saw them until one day someone asked me if I can do wholesale for my prints for children's wear. It's then that I realized this is something I could definitely do!
My art career started MANY years ago and over the years I have tried SO many things! I first began with making logos and websites in 2011, I did that for many years but my heart was never in it! At the same time I did family & newborn photography, again, for many years! But the story was the same... my heart was not in photography (as much as I LOVE taking photos I kinda like to do it just for family and friends and not as a business). I tried my hand at a bow business (too time consuming because I am not the best at sewing!) I tried opening a shop for invitation designs, wedding stationery, I even tried selling Shopify themes (I think this was the LEAST favorite out of all the crazy things I've tried). I tried painting with acrylic paints, like fine art paintings (it went no where). Finally, in 2021 (and 12 years later LOL) I started a pattern shop, creating hand painted patterns and selling them as seamless digital patterns, instant download style.
I LOVED IT. Finally something I LOVE and something I can keep doing. I did it for almost 2 years. During those 2 years I kept dreaming and thinking about starting a boutique but was never really ready to take the plunge yet (I even attempted to do dropshipping!) And then in August 2023, one of my followers messaged me and asked if I could ever offer wholesale children's wear clothing because she loved my prints so much! This was what help me take the plunge and start Addie May!
So the story of starting Addie May has been all over the place but ultimately, the real drive is a passion for creating adorable prints with my own hand painted watercolor art, creating a seamless pattern from those paintings and bringing them to life on cute children's wear apparel so that I can bring to you the cutest clothes for your little ones!
Aside from all my creative frenzy I am a mother to 3 (2 girls and 1 baby boy), I love them to bits! And my loving husband who is always trying his best to support my newest adventures haha! I love cooking for my family, going for walks and doing my best to cherish them while they are little.
I live in Canada, in the outskirts of Vancouver. It's such a beautiful place to live! Right now I am working in the livingroom of my 2 bedroom townhouse. I am excited to see where Addie May takes me... For now, I just love creating new clothes for all of you. I also love making it as affordable as possible because I am a bargain hunting momma of 3 and I understand budgets!
